About this face

Seal is built around a vermilion chop. A square seal sits at the centre of the dial with the time cut into it, and the stone's uneven edges and chipped corners are drawn in, so it looks carved rather than printed. The red is a deep cinnabar rather than a flat scarlet, with the lighter and darker patches you get from real seal paste. A thin border of white keeps the seal from bleeding into the black. Cinnabar on deep black. The always-on view keeps the seal outline and the hour marks.
