Five hundred years ago, the Inca ran an empire without paper. They recorded everything - harvests, census, tribute - in knots tied on cords they carried with them. It was called a quipu: data, worn on the body. Quipu Focus is the younger sister of our Quipu watch face. It ties fewer knots, but ties them thicker: hour above minute, three stats on the left and three on the right, seconds under the clock, two goal arcs around the rim. Fewer fields, each one far bigger. [ALL 49 STATS] Pin any of them to each of the six fields: 1. Activity: steps, distance, calories and active calories, floors up and down, intensity and vigorous minutes, today and this week, weekly run and ride distance, ascent, descent 2. Health and fitness: heart rate, resting heart rate, stress, Body Battery, SpO2, VO2 Max, respiration, recovery time, sleep score, training status, predicted 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon times 3. Weather and sun: temperature with a live condition icon, high and low, forecast for tomorrow, in two and in three days, wind, humidity, UV index, sunrise and sunset, next sun event 4. Watch and world: battery in percent or days, solar intensity, notifications, next calendar event, altitude, pressure, ISO week number, UTC time, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb Plus two full-column forecasts: hourly and daily, three entries each. [THE SAME FAMILY AS THE QUIPU FACE] Quipu, our flagship face, is a dense instrument panel: five slots, a calendar strip and the whole day at once. Focus uses the same engineering and the same depth of settings, but lays them out differently: fewer fields, much bigger numbers, a calmer dial. You choose the composition, not the version. Leave 0 and Focus follows your Garmin Connect goal. The ninth option is daylight: sunrise and sunset at the arc ends, the fill showing how much of the day is left. Three styles: ticks, band and blocks. The percentages at the ends can be hidden, each arc switched off separately. [COLOURS, STYLES, SIZES] 31 accents or your own hex code. Seven elements are coloured independently: the clock, the date and seconds, the text in the centre, the arcs, the middle field's highlight, stat values and stat labels. Three sizes: clock and stats grow together. Labels as a name or an icon, the middle field of a column highlighted in six ways. Values auto-fit, so nothing clips in any language. Accent and arc style can also be changed from the wrist. [SCREEN, DATE, TIME] Six date formats, or no date at all. Your own text fits between the hour and the minute: a name, a mantra, a race day. 12- or 24-hour time, seconds off, on wake or always on. Dark background, light on MIP or contours on AMOLED. Always-on in three levels, easy on the screen and the battery. Garmin weather or MET Norway (yr.no). [HOW FOCUS CAME ABOUT] This face grew out of a suggestion from one of Quipu's users, who wanted even better legibility. Hence the huge two-line clock and the two columns of stats at the sides: the same set of data at a bigger scale. That is how we like to work: our faces come from your comments.
