About this face
Pace Lab Classic brings the Pace Lab race watch face to Garmin watches from the Forerunner 945 and fenix 6 era. Set your 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon goal and race date, and Classic shows your goal next to a race time estimated from your watch's VO2 max, with recovery, weekly distance and your last week of running around it. WHY RUNNERS CHOOSE PACE LAB CLASSIC • Goal vs estimate - "HALF GOAL 1:45:00 · EST 1:46:22", worked out from your VO2 max with the Daniels running formula: see if your fitness is on track without opening an app • Gap to goal - "1:22 TO FIND" or "0:42 AHEAD": a clear target for the weeks ahead • Race countdown - days to go and your race's name keep long runs and taper on schedule • Weekly distance ring - fills towards your km or mile goal from the runs on your watch: know if you need one more run this week • 7-day run chart - spot missed days and sudden jumps before they become injuries • Recovery ring - counts down from Garmin's recovery time: amber while you recover, green when you're ready to go hard WHAT'S DIFFERENT FROM PACE LAB These watches don't share Garmin's race predictor or training status with watch faces - that arrived with newer models. So Classic estimates your race time from VO2 max (Garmin's own predictor also works from VO2 max, so the two land close) and you pick the colour: volt, orange, cyan, red or white. On a Forerunner 255, 265, 955, 965 or newer, get Pace Lab instead. TWO LAYOUTS • Race - goal ring, goal vs estimate, three data fields, 7-day chart: your build weeks on one screen • Recovery - big recovery ring, last run (distance and pace) and running streak: for the day after a hard session 26 DATA FIELDS - SHOW WHAT YOU CHECK • Running: recovery time, VO2 max, race estimate, distance this week or month, last run, streak, intensity minutes • Health: heart rate, resting heart rate, Body Battery, stress, Pulse Ox, respiration • Daily: steps, calories, floors, battery, notifications • Outdoors: temperature, rain chance, wind, UV index, sunrise and sunset, altitude, second time zone MAKE IT YOURS • Km or miles, 12/24 hour, seconds, three date formats • White background for bright sun • Night mode dims the face while you sleep; Venu always-on shifts slightly to protect the screen COMPATIBLE WATCHES Garmin Forerunner 245, 245 Music, 645 Music, 745, 945 and 945 LTE; fenix 5 Plus, 5S Plus and 5X Plus; fenix 6, 6S and 6X (Pro, Solar, Sapphire); Enduro; MARQ (Gen 1); Descent Mk2; Venu; vivoactive 4 and 4S; quatix 6 and 6X. Check the device list for your model. SET UP YOUR RACE IN A MINUTE 1. Choose Pace Lab Classic as your watch face. 2. In the Connect IQ app, open Pace Lab Classic → Settings. 3. Enter race distance, goal time (e.g. 1:45 or 3:30:00), date and name. Garmin doesn't share its race calendar with watch faces, so you enter it here once. 4. Pick layout, colour and data fields. GOOD TO KNOW • The estimate needs a VO2 max on your watch, which comes after a few outdoor runs with GPS and heart rate. It's an estimate of what your fitness supports, not a promise. • Last run, streak, chart and weekly distance use the runs saved on your watch; anything a watch lacks shows "--". • Privacy: nothing is collected or sent - Pace Lab Classic only reads your watch's data to show it.
