About this face

Morning star puts the most important Garmin watch-face features first: full customization from your phone and compatible watches, nine coordinated themes, a dedicated low-power Always-On Display, and flexible data and goal fields. KEY FEATURES - Customize themes, time format, data fields, goals, labels, icons and supported colors through Connect IQ phone settings or directly on compatible watches. - Choose from nine complete themes: Original, Monochrome, Ocean, Forest, Sunset, Lavender, Luxury, Sport and Alert. - Use a dedicated AOD with a true black background, theme-aware time color, 12/24-hour support, efficient partial updates and automatic burn-in position shifting where required. - Reassign available indicator and goal slots without reinstalling the watch face. - Switch supported indicators between readable text labels and custom icons. - Follow progress with classic rings, half-rings, lines, edge indicators and side arcs, plus metric-aware segmented rings, capsule bars, dot tracks, tick arcs, milestone bars, battery cells, chevrons, dual rings, range gauges and sun-event arcs where supported. - Enjoy high-contrast typography, responsive spacing and layouts optimized for round, square, rectangular, AMOLED and smaller Garmin displays. THEMES & INDIVIDUAL COLORS A theme coordinates supported time, date, day, data, label, icon, goal, progress, separator, shape and AOD colors while preserving the original background artwork. Supported colors can also be changed individually for a more personal design. ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY The simplified AOD keeps the time easy to read while reducing illuminated pixels and unnecessary drawing. It follows the selected time format and theme, uses efficient low-power updates and shifts position on devices that require burn-in protection. COMPLETE INDICATOR CATALOG — 45 CHOICES Activity & movement: Steps, Intensity Minutes, Moderate Minutes, Vigorous Minutes, Calories, Distance, Floors Climbed, Floors Descended, Push Distance, Elevation, Accelerometer, Fitness Activity, Motion Intensity, Move IQ, Weekly Running Distance, Weekly Cycling Distance. Weather & outdoors: Weather, Wind Speed, Weather + Wind, Temperature, High / Low Temperature, Rain Probability, Humidity + UV Index, Atmospheric Pressure, Next Sun Event, Solar Input. GOALS, PROGRESS & LAYOUT Data fields can be paired with visual goals using independent start, end and remaining-track colors, or colors linked to their matching indicator. Generated designs choose goal graphics by metric meaning, limit complex graphics for readability and memory efficiency, and adapt compatible devices automatically. TIME & DATE Choose Follow Device, 12-hour or 24-hour time. Supported date, day name and secondary time information can use their own colors. COMPATIBILITY & EFFICIENCY Device-aware checks prevent unsupported metrics from causing errors. Compatible on-watch menus hide choices when the required Garmin API is unavailable; unavailable sensor data safely falls back instead of interrupting the watch face. Feature availability depends on the Garmin model, display, sensors, permissions, firmware, Connect IQ version and Garmin API support.
